Where To Begin? A Little Bit of Catch Up...

My dear cousin, Jamie, has talked me into blogging. I have been able to keep up with her family through her beautiful blog. It has been great to watch her baby boy grow and read the wonderful stories of a new mother experiencing life through her baby's eyes. They live in Texas, so it has been nice to keep up. I guess it is only fair that I give her the same opportunity! I know it will be nice for our other out-of-town relatives, as well.

So. Where do I begin? Ethan is in second grade and is doing VERY well. He truly is a very bright boy. He is in enrichment class once a week and LIVES for it! We had a parent-teacher conference today and luckily, his teacher seems to appreciate his "wisdom"! Ha! He takes Tae-Kwon-Do once a week from our good friend, Jeff. He is in an acting class on Monday nights and is very involved at our church. He is in the Christmas show I am directing at the church but I think that will be a separate post!

Kaedyn is 2 1/2 and is a curious, independent little girl! She loves having her fingernails and toenails painted, she loves pretty dresses and she wears my high-heels more often than I do these days! She is very in to Disney Princesses and likes to pretend like she is a kitty. But, at the same time, she has a "tom-boy" side to her! She can hold her own with her brother and all of the little boys at church. She can be rough and tumble and she LOVES bugs! She brings them to me all the time! (I really wish she wouldn't! Ha!)

David is still working for EDS. He just started Grad School this past month. He is doing an on-line program at Webster University. He is quite the smarty-pants, as well! He is working on his MS in Finance and wishes to get his CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst). It took me FOREVER to get all of those "letters" down and what they stood for! Ha!

I am busy at the salon and it is about to get busier with holidays fast approaching. I started a Youth Drama Team at the church last January. I LOVE it! I have about 7 youth that attend consistently and they are so much fun! The Drama Team did the message for the Maundy Thursday service before Easter (my brother, David, was Jesus! He was wonderful!) and it was VERY well received in the church. We have done a few things on Sunday mornings during service and for other events at the church. It has been a dream come true for me. I love working with the Youth and I have always had a dream of teaching theater but I had no desire to put up with the politics that come along with being a high school drama teacher. Now, not only am I teaching theater, but I am able to teach youth how to minister and spread God's love in different ways. The church asked me to direct a Christmas program and I decided to "go big" and have involved all ages in the church! I am directing "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" and the cast ranges in ages 5-adult. (You may remember reading the book or watching the movie?) This is a first for our church and I am very excited about it! We have done children's programs and choir concerts in the past but never a full production with all of the varied ages. I will make future posts about it. Ethan has a role in the show and is doing a great job!

I guess that is about all for now! I just got a new camera so look for new pics very soon! ;-)

Yea! This is great.

You said Ethan was going to be in a church program, but I didn't hear you say you were putting it on. WOW! Keep us informed, we'll want to see it.
