Ethan has been taking Tae Kwon Do with our good friend, Jeff, since early fall. Jeff is absolutely amazing with him and we are so incredibly blessed to have him in our lives. He has always been like an Uncle to Ethan. Ethan has done really well and loves Tae Kwon Do. Jeff works with him on form, focus, discipline and respect. A couple of weeks ago, Ethan took his first test for his first belt. He had to perform several "forms", kicks and punches. He also had to recite a Bible verse. "I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me." He received his yellow stripe on his white belt and we are so proud of him! It was so fun to watch him test with Jeff. He was very determined and he did a great job.
It truly is a blessing to have such wonderful people in our lives. As I look back over Ethan's 8 1/2 years, I realize how many people have had and will continue to have a positive impact on his life. On both Ethan and Kaedyn. As I have said before, family is very important to me. We are blessed to be surrounded by Parents, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles (blood and otherwise!) and Cousins. We are also blessed with a beautiful Church Family that I have been able to depend on for many years. It has been such an incredible part of our lives. My children feel like the church is another home to them. They run around there like they own the place, and in a way, I guess they do own a part of it! It is so important to me for them to have a solid Christian, faith-based foundation. I am glad they are learning about our Lord and Creator in such a positive and loving atmosphere. I do believe two parents cannot raise children by themselves. It takes a village to raise a child and I thank God everyday for my children and my village.
